The Oregon State Court of Appeals released documentation October 9th, 2013, on a decision for State vs. Goff.

The Court decided to reverse and remand the decision of the trial court to include evidence of two prior domestic violence incidences as impermissible character evidence.

OEC 404(3) provides:
“Evidence of other crimes, wrongs or acts is not admissible to prove
the character of a person in order to show that the person acted in
conformity therewith. It may, however, be admissible for other purposes,
such as proof of motive, opportunity, intent, preparation, plan, knowledge,
identity, or absence of mistake or accident.”
